How do I find the tour guide?Details regarding where exactly to meet "T" your tour guide will be included in your booking confirmation. If you still have trouble finding your tour guide, please text or call us at (210) 787-9611.
-
What are the physical requirements?Walking tour participants must be physically able to walk two to three miles as well as walk/stand for two to three hours. There are a few places to sit along the tours route but sitting options are very limited. The majority of our walking tour routes are outside, and although we look for shaded areas, often we are in the direct sunlight. Walking tour routes are along city sidewalks, along the Riverwalk or San Pedro Creek Culture Park and into a few downtown buildings. There will be routes where stairs are encountered - some with accessibility options, other times without accessibility options. Please ensure you and the members of your group are physically able to participate in our guided walking tours. If you have questions, please text or call us at (210) 787-9611 or email us at info@tourswitht.com
-
Is parking available?T's Tours is not responsible for securing parking for walking tour participants. Please research public parking options prior to your arrival downtown and plan your time accordingly. There are public parking options near our walking tour start locations, but do require a short walk to start locations. Additionally, our start locations are in the core of our downtown area and are close to many downtown and riverwalk hotels.
-
Are restrooms available?Downtown San Antonio does have public restrooms available, but locations are limited. T's Tours walking tour start locations are near public restrooms and bathroom stops are planned along tour routes. Please arrive at tour start location several minutes early if you think you will need to use a public facility prior to tour start time.

Does T's Tours Own Their Own Bikes?T's Tours does not own a fleet of bikes. We rent both ebikes and traditional bikes from local, professional bicycle rental partners. We have found that there are great rental partners here in San Antonio, perfectly situated in downtown San Antonio, along the Mission Reach Hike and Bike Trail as well as at the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park. These partners maintain their own fleets of bicycles and have experience in bicycle maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs. Plus, we like supporting our local community partners. T's Tours has a working relationship with San Antonio BCycle which has rental/docking stations at the Blue Star Arts Complex, the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park and along the Mission Reach Trail. If you prefer traditional bikes or non-rideshare ebikes we can start tours from Blue Star Arts Complex, where the Blue Start Bike Shop is located. San Antonio BCycle Blue Star Bicycling Company T's Tours offers the option for you to rent bicycles on your own, bring your own bicycles or we can take care of the rentals for you. These options are available to you during the booking process. Please feel free to call or text T's Tours at (210) 787-9611 if you have questions. Or email us at info@tourswitht.com.

Is there a minimum number of people to book a tour?In order to open a tour booking, a minimum of two participants is needed, but not two bike rentals. If you want to book a tour for yourself, you will need to book a tour for two people - one for you and one for a "second person", but neither you nor T's Tours needs to rent this "second person" a bicycle. Your would just be paying for yourself and the tour guide fee for the 'second person." It is not cost effective for T's Tours to offer tours for just one person at the one person booking price. However, If another small group books the same exact tour as you, then you will receive reimbursement for your "second person" booking. Additionally, if a tour booking is already opened by a different small group, you can join that group at the one booking price.

What is the Mission Reach Trail? The Mission Reach Trail is a beautiful hike and bike trail that meanders along the San Antonio River, south of downtown. It is the great connector! Officially called the San Antonio River Walk Mission Reach, it connects with the riverwalk downtown on it's northern end and to the Medina River Trail/Howard Peak Greenway Trail System on its southern end. It connects the city center's to the San Antonio Missions as the river flows south. It connects our history with our present day. It connects our communities to the outdoors. The Mission Reach and the San Antonio River are managed by the San Antonio River Authority (SARA) and it's non-profit arm, the San Antonio River Foundation (SARF). Learn more by visiting the SARA and SARF websites. San Antonio River Walk Mission Reach ~ San Antonio River Authority San Antonio River Foundation

What Bicycle Riding Skill Level is Needed? Our guided bicycle tours range from nine (9) to twenty (20) miles in distance. We also stop at several points of interest along the tour routes and we walk the grounds of the San Antonio Missions. Participants must have basic bike riding skills and balance. These skills and abilities include, but are not limited to: basic bike knowledge and riding experience, ability to pedal, ability to balance going around corners, ability to pedal up hills, ability to brake/stop frequently, ability to get off and on bicycles. These skills are needed for both traditional and ebikes. Ebikes might assist with managing distance, effort and endurance but will not help with poor riding skills, balance concerns and/or inability to get on and off bikes. Additionally, riding a stationary bike in an air-conditioned setting is very different from riding a bicycle along a trail, in the outdoors, along uneven terrain with wind, heat and other factors thrown in the mix. The pace of our rides is a relaxed pace and we certainly won't leave anyone behind, but you must be able to keep up/keep pace with the tour group. If you have questions, please feel free to text or call us at (210) 787-9611 or send us an email at info@tourswitht.com. If you are concerned about your pace, give us a call and we can work out a private tour that is geared more to your pace.

Can clients rent traditional and ebikes? For tours leaving from Mission San Jose or Mission Concepcion, only the BCycle rentals are available. BCycle has rental/docking stations at each of these missions as well as the other missions and locations along the Mission Reach Trail. T's Tours can arrange for tours to leave from the Blue Start Arts Complex. The Blue Star Arts Complex has a San Antonio BCycle rental/docking station (ebikes) and is the location of the Blue Star Bike Shop, which offers traditional and ebike rentals. Please feel free to call or text T's Tours at (210) 787-9611 if you have questions. Or email us at info@tourswitht.com. Contact us so that we can talk about your options.

What are the age requirements? There must be someone in your group at least eighteen years (18) of age (legal adult age). This requirement is for liability and bike rental purposes. We require all other participants to be at least sixteen years of age and at least 5 foot tall. This primarily has to do with bike size availability. San Antonio BCycles only has one size bicycles for their ebikes. They do not offer children's sized bikes or small framed bikes. Plus, San Antonio BCycles only offers ebike rentals. Participants must be able to handle the extra weight and power of the ebikes. Placing children on bicycles that are too large and having them ride nine plus miles during a bicycle tour, creates issues and concerns. Adding in the weight and power of ebikes only adds to theses issues and concerns. Participants must also be able to keep up with the tour pace. We have found over the years, the younger children are often challenged by the tour pace, especially on ill-fitting bicycles. For the safety of our clients and to ensure all participants have a wonderful experience, we require the following: one legal adult (18 or older) in the group and other participants to be at least sixteen years of age. Please feel free to call or text T's Tours at (210) 787-9611 if you have questions. Or email us at info@tourswitht.com. If you feel strongly that your child, who is under sixteen, can handle a bicycle tour, call us. In certain circumstances, we have offered private tours for groups with smaller/younger children.

What is San Antonio BCycle?San Antonio BCycle is a ebike ride-share program with ebike docking stations at each of the San Antonio Missions and at other locations in downtown San Antonio. After downloading the BCycle App and setting up payment details, BCycle clients can "check-out" a bicycle at a docking station, ride the bicycle to the next docking station and then "check-in" the bicycle. When ready to head to the next location, clients simply "check-out" a bike and pedal to next docking station. Since this is a ride-share program, Bcycle bikes must be "checked-in" at a docking station, once per hour. BCycle only has ebike options available. BCycle offers hourly passes ($15.00), day passes ($25.00), monthly passes ($33.00) and annual passes ($160.00). Additional fees apply for using the bicycle more than an hour at a time and/or for abandoning a bicycle. Our tours last at least three hours, so the best rental option for one of our tours is the day pass, unless you reside in San Antonio or are on an extended stay. For more specific info, check out the San Antonio BCycle website. San Antonio BCycle T's Tours has a working relationship with San Antonio BCycle and can very easily rent the bicycles for you. The fees for the rental will be incorporated into the tour cost. Please feel free to call or text T's Tours at (210) 787-9611 if you have questions. Or email us at info@tourswitht.com.

Do you book tours for groups larger than six people?Yes, T's Tours definitely books tours for groups larger than six people. For groups larger than six people, we would just need a bit more advanced notice to ensure that we have enough bicycles available and if necessary, bring on additional staff to assist with the tour. We would handle groups larger than six people as private or custom tours and need to plan accordingly. We can handle bicycles tours up to thirty (30) people. Contact us to talk more about options and pricing. Pricing would depend on tour route selection, number of people, etc. Please feel free to call or text T's Tours at (210) 787-9611 if you have questions. Or email us at info@tourswitht.com

What is the benefit of renting a BCycle on my own as opposed to renting through T's Tours? There have been times when our guided tour clients want to continue to ride along the mission reach trail on their own, after the bike tour ends. There have been times when our guided tour clients want to continue to ride the following day on their own. There have been other times when our guided tour clients are in town for an extended stay and would like to use the BCycles during their stay. If you want to use the San Antonio BCycle ebikes anytime outside of the guided tour, you must purchase a pass through your own account. Setting up your own account is pretty simple after downloading the BCycle App. We encourage you to take advantage of the BCycle experience. San Antonio BCycle T's Tours is more than happy to take care of the BCycle rentals for you. We have a business account and a good working relationship with San Antonio BCycles. However, if T's Tours purchases the pass on your behalf, you cannot continue to ride the BCyle ebikes once the guided tour is over. Please feel free to call or text T's Tours at (210) 787-9611 if you have questions. Or email us at info@tourswitht.com.

Are Helmets Required? For participant safety and liability reasons, T's Tours does require our guided bicycle tour clients to wear a properly fitted helmet while riding bicycles. T's Tours does provide a helmet for each guided tour participant and will assist in ensuring a safe and comfortable fit.
